Top 10 Most Expensive Stilettos of All Time

Stilettos! Most Expensive Stilettos! No matter what but this quote is always true”

“I think any woman can be transformed by a beautiful dress and high heels.” – Linda Gray

A girl’s dearest friend may be diamond-encrusted shoes, and they could very well also be her soul mate. The answer to a man’s question, “What do you want?” isn’t as elusive as he would think: If Carrie Bradshaw, a female fashion icon, is any indication, the response is almost always shoes. The more enticing, fancy, and fashionable the shoes are, the more alluring and desirable they are to women.

Girls are rarely to be seen with flip-flops or Crocs at a formal event. No, she’ll very certainly be donning a stiletto or a high heel. Women buy shoes for a variety of reasons, including their aesthetic value, historical significance, or newness and fad appeal. Some women, like Celine Dion, have gone as far as amassing a collection of 3,000 pairs of shoes. Take a look at the ten most expensive stilettos of all time.

List of Most Expensive Stilettos

10. “Eternal Diamond” Stiletto by Borgezie – $216k

Celebrity jewelry designer Christopher Michael Shellis created the premium jeweler House of Borgezie more than two decades ago. Borgezie, a company based in the United Kingdom, is known for creating high-end women’s accessories including purses, veils, and, most recently, stilettos that have been dubbed “Eternal Diamonds.”

Over 2,200 diamonds totaling 30 carats are embedded in this customized shoe, which comes with a 1,000-year warranty (yes, you read that correctly). A goldsmith initially creates each pair of shoes before turning them over to a diamond setter to be embellished. The shoe took Shellis three years to develop, and it takes a month to make one pair. “I actually had to rethink the fundamental idea of traditional stiletto construction,” the designer said, according to the Daily Mail. Due to the time and craftsmanship required to make these shoes, the company charges $216 for them.

9. “Diamond Princess Constellation” Stiletto by Borgezie – $331k

Christopher Michael Shellis unveiled the “Diamond Princess Constellation” stiletto four years after debuting the “Eternal Diamond” model, one-upping his own previous feat. Shellis believes these beautiful heels are his masterpiece. Paul Simon’s iconic pop song “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” acted as inspiration for this piece.

The “Princess Constellation” heels have 1,290 diamonds and come in platinum or 18-carat gold. It takes three weeks to construct a pair of these heavily endowed heels, but when they’re finished, any lady will feel and look like royalty, which is why they’re priced at a handsome sum of $331,450.

8. “Diamond Dream” Stiletto by Stuart Weitzman – $500k

These designer shoes were created by Stuart Weitzman, a well-known shoe designer, and Kwiat, a well-known diamond jewelry designer. Weitzman characterized the pair as “fit for a queen” because of their 1,420 30-carat brilliant-cut diamonds. The ankles are adorned with two tiny circle bands, and the exquisite silver toe strap completes the look. During the 2007 Academy Awards, the “Diamond Dream” stilettos made their red-carpet premiere. It’s only fitting that “Dreamgirls” actress Anika Noni Rose wore them on the red carpet, making it a star debut for both the celeb and the shoe.

7. “Retro Rose” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $1 million

The “Retro Rose” Pumps by Stuart Weitzman are the first pair to sell for seven figures. The ‘T-strap’ design from 1940s Hollywood served as inspiration for these retro-inspired shoes. A diamond-encrusted rose made of 1,800 100-carat Kwiat diamonds sits atop each pair of silky gold leather heels. 400 additional glistening diamonds are adorned by the shoes themselves.

A dispute erupted over Weitzman’s “Retro Rose” heels when Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody wore them to the 2008 Academy Awards. Refusing was nothing new for Cody. He described it as a “cheesy PR gimmick.”

6. “Marilyn Monroe” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $1 million

Another opulent Stuart Weitzman creation, these elegant shoes feature an encrusted satin rose and a halo of sparkling Swarovski crystals. These stunningly detailed shoes radiate luxury. In addition to being inspired by Marilyn Monroe, these feature Swarovski crystal earrings that were originally part of a set that belonged to the iconic movie star.

Regina King, who was nominated for her part in “Ray” and wore the shoes to the 2005 Oscars, made a fashion statement with these shoes. The heels were sold for $1 million at the Celebrity Rags 4 Charity Riches auction after the original earrings were replaced by replicas.

5. “Platinum Guild” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $1.09 million

Mr. Weitzman’s “Platinum Guild” stilettos are the fifth most costly on this list, which is still dominated by the designer. 464 Kwiat diamonds in pear and round shapes adorn the platinum shoes. The ankle strap may be removed and used as a bracelet or necklace, making these valued stilettos even more prized gems than they already are!

In 2002, Laura Harring, who starred in the film Mulholland Drive, wore them to the Academy Awards while being escorted by three bodyguards. The anklet was unnecessary, as she already had a $27 million diamond necklace around her neck.

4. “Ruby Slippers” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $1.6 million

These stunning heels, inspired by “The Wizard of Oz,” are made of solid platinum and given a crimson satin finish. The shoes are studded with 123.33 carats of rare Burmese rubies. These stunning shoes were made possible thanks to a partnership between Weitzman and Oscar Herman Bros. They had been scheduled to attend the 2003 Academy Awards, but the conflict in the Middle East forced them to cancel. They were unveiled in London’s Harrod’s hall later that day.

3. “Cinderella Slippers” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $2 million

This pair of stilettos by Stuart Weitzman was inspired by Cinderella’s famous glass slippers, and he pulled it off flawlessly. Between the pair, these shoes have 565 diamonds, totaling 55 carats. The solitary 5-carat Amaretto diamond in the right shoe is worth $1,000,000 on its own. All of the gems have platinum settings and are set in Italian leather. Singer Alison Krauss wore the sparkling shoes at the 2004 Academy Awards.

2. “Tanzanite” Stiletto by Stuart Weitzman – $2 million

Stuart Weitzman’s exquisite workmanship and design are on full display once again in these beautiful shoes. These silver leather shoes were created in collaboration with jeweler Eddie LeVian. Tanzanite jewels from Africa which weigh 185 carats adorn the ankle strap. The diamond-encrusted toe straps weigh a whopping 28 carats. We have to admit that this is one of the costliest pairs of heels ever produced. It costs a staggering $2,000,000. It makes you wonder who will be the first to walk the red carpet with these stunning gems because they have yet to make an appearance on the runway.

1. “Rita Hayworth” Stilettos by Stuart Weitzman – $3 million

The “Rita Hayworth” heels, named after the legendary 1940s movie heroine, come in at number one on our list. Weitzman once again teamed up with LeVian to produce a pair of stilettos that will have you drooling. Weitzman’s customary bright and sparkly stilettos have been replaced by a pair of chocolate-colored heels.

The satin flowers on the heels hold a pair of the Hollywood legend’s old earrings, and the leather shoes themselves are encrusted with diamonds, sapphires, and rubies for the ultimate glitz and flair. The pair was worn to the 2006 Academy Awards by actress and singer Kathleen “Bird” York and is currently held by Hayworth’s daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan.

The Final Note

Even though the expensive stilettos on this list are far beyond most people’s financial range, a decent shoe is worth the agony and the money. Shoes like this transform women into divas and princesses, making them the center of attention. “The reality is, sometimes it’s hard to walk in a woman’s shoes,” explains our footwear expert Carrie Bradshaw. “That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.” Which heels are your favorite?
