After the release of Spider-man No Way Home, fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming developments. It was further powered with the 11 minutes long extended cut of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The eccentric humor of the three Peters has played very well with the fans and the extended cut promises to deliver more!

Marvel’s Spider-Man movies have diverged into two distinct creative directions: one led by the superheroes and the other by the villains like Venom and Morbius; and all this in the same multiverse. Sony’s Venom was critically acclaimed, but Morbius has failed to impress some fans. Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse starring Shameik Moore is an animated film with two sequels in the making. Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Part-1 and 2

Cast- Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali

Release Date:  June 2, 2023

A sequel to Spider-Man into the Spider-verse was developed in 2018 and will revolve around Moore’s Miles and Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman. Although the title has been under remodeling, the venture is still ongoing. Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Miles Morales / Spider-Man finds himself in a multiverse with Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman and a new team of Spider-People and it also features a spider-man villains and a lot more!  It is also to be followed by part two.

Kraven the Hunter

Cast- Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger

Release date: October 6, 2023

Sam Raimi had originally intended to write Kraven into the fourth spider-man film but it never panned out. Luckily for the fans of the comics, it is on the way. Aaron Taylor-Johnson who has been cast as Kraven has labeled it “protector of the natural world”. Ariana DeBose as Calypso: A voodoo priestess has been cast as the love interest.  Christopher Abbott will play the antagonist.

The wait for this particular Sony project has been prolonged but the good news for the fans the project is bustling along. S.J. Clarkson is directing this female-driven film. It repurposes the spider senses into clairvoyance in “Spider world”. Dakota Johnson, the Cha Cha Real Smooth actress is set to play the lead and Sydney Sweeney’s role remains undisclosed.

El Muerto

Cast: Bad Bunny

Jonas Cuaron, son of Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron is to direct this much-awaited project. El Muerto (Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez in the comics) is to be voiced by the rapper Bad Bunny. He is a wrestler whose power is passed through the generations through a mask. Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, will be the first-ever Latino actor to play in such a major capacity in a Marvel film.

Venom 3

Cast- Tom Hardy, Joe Manganiello

Sony’s Venom was a huge success and pivoted the critical acclaim of sony’s spider-man universe. The film featuring jaded journalist and symbiote Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) does not have a director yet. There has been speculation about Joe Manganiello reprising his role as Flash Thompson since Tony Revolori is too young.  Venom 3 is highly anticipated because of its truthful adaptation of the Maximum Carnage storyline.

Spider-man 4-6

Spider-Man No Way Home had seemingly indicated the end of Holland’s Peter Parker but the fans will be pleased to hear: there’s more! Sony and Marvel Studios are working to release Spider-Man’s next exclusive Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure which will have Spider-Man 4 appear near the end of Phase 5. Kevin Feige reassured the fans that there will be no “separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home,”.

The sinister Six

Cast-  Andrew Garfield, Michael Keaton,  Jared Leto

The most anticipated film on this list is probably this one and it has been under construction for years. It was originally intended as a spin-off to the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, but it was called off. Andrew Garfield is set to play Spider-Man along with Michael Keaton as Vulture and Jared Leto as Morbius. The stellar cast is a great incentive for eager fans.


Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse also promised a female-driven spinoff movie centered on three generations of female Spider-related characters. They planned to have characters like Gwen Stacy or Spider Gwen, Cindy Moon or Silk, and Jessica Drew or Spider-Woman. There has been no news regarding its development but that might change with the arrival of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse.

Untitled Olivia Wilde Spider-Man Universe

Olivia Wilde was approached to direct and develop a Marvel project revolving around a female character in the universe. It has been rumored that the story will be centered on Spider-Woman. The film will be penned by Katie Silberman who is Wilde’s creative associate. The Spider-Woman character has actually been the alter ego of several characters in the Spider-Man timeline over the years including Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and Jessica Drew. No recent news has arrived regarding its development.
