Netflix is one of the largest online streaming platforms available globally and with the pandemic forcing most of us to stay at home, what better way to spend time than by binging? Netflix is a service known to cater to all types of audiences and in recent times has managed to create a large space for the anime community as well.
Ranging from a soft coming of age anime like Violet Evergarden to an action-packed anime like Castlevania, we can surely say they have range. Here’s a list of the latest upcoming additions to their anime library
Netflix 7 New Anime List
1. Godzilla: Singular Point
This Sci-fi anime is licensed under Netflix and follows the story of two individuals, Yun Arikawa and Mei Kamino who are investigating two different things in two different parts of the city and yet hear the same song and are united only to realize that the whole world is in danger and they need to find a way to save everyone. The film will be releasing on June 24th, 2021 and you can find its official trailer here:
2. Shaman King
The next in the lineup is Shaman King, based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. The series follows the story of a young boy named Yoh Asakura and his adventures as he tries to improve his shaman skills to become the next shaman king. The trailer can be found here:
3. Eden’s Zero
Hiro Mashima’s Eden’s Zero is a science fiction manga based on the story of a boy named Shiki Granbell and his companions who set out on a journey to find a cosmic goddess called “mother”. The anime series will be releasing on 26th August and you can find the official trailer below. The trailer gives us an insight into the future action-packed funny sequences to look forward to. According to Hiro Mashima, the series will follow the main themes of friendship, battles, and family from one of the legendary animes of all time Fairy Tail.
4. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway
A mecha classic anime based on the series of novels written by Yoshiyuki Tomino which follows the story of Noa Hathaway who has to shoulder the responsibility of leading an insurgence group against the federation under the name of Nafty Navue Erin. 5. Exception
One of the most recent Netflix Original anime announced it will be a space horror anime series with the story provided by Hirotaka Adachi featuring really cool character design done by Yoshitaka Amano, Final Fantasy’s character designer. Unlike the other anime mentioned so far, this doesn’t have an official trailer yet but the teaser picture released is terrifying enough!
6. Make My Day
Make my Day is another anime horror film set on a planet of ice and snow with inhabitants living in the fear of strange creatures rising and hunting them. So far there is no trailer for this either but we expect it to be released soon enough.
7. Bright: Samurai Soul
On the brighter side (quite literally), Netflix also announced this original, Bright: Samurai Soul based on the movie Bright starring Will Smith. The plot will follow the story of Izo, a Ronin, and Raiden, an orc, working together to take a young elf girl and her wand to the land of the elves.
