Ever since season one has come out, Jujutsu Kaisen has been the topic on everyone’s tongue! Now, the Jujutsu Kaisen team has announced the series’ first movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Unlike the anime series that focused majorly on the story of Itadori Yuji, the focus of the movie will be on the mysterious 2nd year briefly mentioned in the anime, Yuta Okkotsu.

Premiering on the 24th of December, 2021, the movie serves as a prequel to the series, telling the viewers the story of the curse that haunts Yuta Okkotsu mercilessly.

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem — his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?

Many are concerned about the studio’s direction as it was recently announced that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is on an indefinite hiatus due to its creator, Gege Akutami facing health concerns. Initially, we expected the manga to return within a month but there will be a further delay as confirmed by Akutami himself.

Many of us are also hoping for the confirmation of a season 2 and its release date to be announced after the premiere of the movie because there has been no official confirmation regarding the same.

Season 1 was received with great enthusiasm and reviews, making many anime-only fans switch to manga to know what happens next as the story was too intriguing to wait for the next season.

With a sale of 50 million manga copies and an IMDB rating of 8.7/10 for the anime, the expectations set for the possible next season are very high. After the season 1 finale ended with the phrase “to be continued” we have our fingers crossed with hopes of getting another season!

One thing we do know for sure is that we’ll get to see our favorite sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, in action once again and hopefully a glimpse of our other favorite characters as well through the movie. We couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift. Until then stay safe everyone!
