1) Reset your Laptop Using Windows Setting

  1. Click on the Menu tab on your Windows 8 or above version laptop. Then go to Settings. From here, go to Update and Security.
  2. In the Update and Security tab click on the Recovery option.
  3. Then go to Reset this PC section.
  4. In this, you will see an option saying Get Started. Click on Get Started.

6. The first one will remove all the apps and settings on your laptop but will save and keep all the files, like pictures, videos, etc.

7. The second option will remove everything from the laptop which includes the apps, settings, files, etc.

Now since you have to factory reset your laptop, go with the second option to remove everything from the laptop. Once you click on this there will again be 2 options available for you on the screen.

The first option will Reset the PC quickly and this option is good if you are still using your PC. It will factory reset the system quickly and make it available for use again.

The second option will Reset the PC and clean the drive, this system setting will clean up everything on your laptop. This option is good if you are not using the laptop and have maybe, decided to sell it. So, this thus makes it harder for someone else to recover your files. This option will about 2 to 3 hours.

2) Reset using Start/Shut Down Menu

  1. Go to the Windows bar, the 3 options from where you shut down your laptop choose the restart button.
  2. From here you will get the Troubleshoot option. Click on that.

3) Factory Reset For Windows 7

  1. Go to the Windows start button, from here you will need to go to the Control Panel.

4) Reset In Safe Mode

 If you can’t get to the reset feature, in that case, the next thing to try is to reset in Safe Mode.

  1. Follow the directions for resetting above. When you arrive at the Recovery screen, click on “Restart now” under the “Advanced startup” heading.
  2. Your system will reboot, and you’ll get a blue screen that lets you “Choose an option.”
  3. If you want to reset your PC, click on “Troubleshoot.”
  4.   5. If you want to reset your PC, then just click on that option; you’ll then be given the choice to either keep your files or remove everything.
  6. Click on either and the process will begin; again, you may need to fill in your recovery key first.

5) Reset From Sign-In Screen

If you can’t access the settings menu, you can try resetting your PC from the sign-in screen.

  1. Press the Windows logo key and L on your keyboard. This will take you to the Windows 10 sign-in screen. Don’t login.
  2. Instead, you can reset your PC by holding the Shift key while you click the Power button>Restart in thelower-right corner of the screen. 
  3. Your PC will restart in Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment. 
  4. From the option screen, choose Troubleshoot>Reset this PC. From here, choose between the options listed above.
